Hey again everyone! I hope you’re all enjoying your Easter weekend and that the weather’s nice, wherever you are!

The foundation gem that gets no praise

Hi everyone!

Today I am back with a review on the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream – one of my holy grail foundations, yet it gets absolutely no hype from anyone online!

To be fair, that isn’t completely true. Fleur from FleurDeForce has raved about this product a fair bit and I guess that’s one of the main reasons that I decided to give it a try.

Since I’ve had it long enough to give it a good go, I’m reviewing it for you today!

As always, there’s a final roundup at the end of the post so skip to that if you’re not interested in anything in-depth.

I’ll get going with the packaging. Nothing particularly special. Maybe that’s why I never hear anything about it – I mean, it doesn’t exactly shout out ‘hey, look at me and buy me!’ like the Rimmel Wake Me Up’s bright lid or Revlon’s expensive look.

Nevertheless, the squeezy tube that it does come in is great for on the go because it ain’t going to smash or anything like that.

This foundation is kind of pricey at £9.99, but then again I guess that Bourjois is kind of higher-end of the drugstore, and if you compare that to other brands it’s a pretty good buy.

Now, I do have to say that I’m not a huge fan of the shade range – just 3 colours. And although the range doesn’t go very dark at all, all of the shades have a slight orangey undertone which isn’t really great with any skintone – but especially if you’re fair like me!

The shade that I have is slightly too dark but I blend it down my neck anyway, so it gives me a little more colour. I would like to find one in my actual shade though!

The formula of this product is amazing – although it is called a CC cream, don’t be fooled! I would definitely say that this gives foundation coverage… But still leaves your skin looking like skin: all of your freckles show through and things like that. It has the most unique finish that’s so difficult to describe to you, but basically you get the best of both – coverage of a multitude of sins but a natural look at the same time.

It’s also a very hydrating formula and gives a dewy finish. I would actually go as far as to say that this foundation gives me even more glow than the Wake Me Up from Rimmel (click here for a review of that!) – on me, anyway.

Although best for dry skin, I would say that you could still get away with this if you’re combination-to-oily as a light powder dusting and the glow pretty much vanishes. However, if you’re oily – AVOID!

Final Roundup
Price: £9.99
Packaging: 3/5 (plastic tube so ideal for travelling, but not very appealing considering the price)
Consistency: 5/5 (hydrating, glowy, but still natural even though it has a good coverage. Everything I look for in a foundation)
Skin type best for: Dry to combination. Definitely NOT if you’re oily!
Coverage: Light to medium (but more on the medium side. I wouldn’t build it too much as it could cake up a little)
Colour choice: 2/5 (all a bit orangey, and only 3 shades!)
Overall quality: 4/5
Recommended?: I absolutely adore this foundation! Why it doesn’t get more praise I don’t know. I would absolutely recommend it if you’re in the market for a new foundation!

So there you go! Done and dusted.

What’s your favourite foundation at the moment?
