Beauty Haul & First Impressions!

I managed to do a whole lot of shopping over Christmas and New Year, so much so that I’ve managed to end up with a little stash of products that I want to share with you. I also thought that, seeing as I’ve used all of these products already (sorry, I have no patience!), I’d give you my first impressions too. Continue reading “Beauty Haul & First Impressions!”

New year, new lip staple

Hi lovelies,

Very recently I picked up a new lip product that I had been eying up for a while – and very quickly it has become my everyday lip staple!

It is from Estee Lauder – and before you all switch off because it’s pricey (which it is, but hear me out!) I wanted to share with you why I think it’s worth the £17.55 I paid for it.

So I’ve heard a couple of people talk about it, but I was in John Lewis and having a mooch around the makeup counters (as always), and I spotted the rows of gorgeous golden compacts on the Estee Lauder stand.

Being like a magpie – drawn to anything shiny – I sidled over there and came across this little baby:

It is the Estee Lauder Pure Colour Lipshine, in the colour 02 Pink Patent.

It’s such a stunning pink, I was drawn to it anyway, but I think that it’s the formulae that really attracted me. It’s basically a sheer balm – kind of similar, I suppose, to products like the Maybelline Baby Lips (click here for review – nice plug there) – they’re designed to be sheer and not add any large amounts of colour, and they’re also designed to be very nourishing and easy to wear.

Here is the shade:

And here is a swatch!

As you can see, it’s such a wearable shade! It’s also a colour that I find suits my skin tone and goes with pretty much every shade of eyeshadow – from smokey eyes to classic neutrals.

I love the sleek pink tube too! Such a pretty twist on most higher end lip products – packaging tends to be bulked out and can sometimes look a little tacky. So cute, and also ideal for throwing in a clutch bag because it barely takes up any space!

I do wish it had a scent though – but then again, that might give it an icky taste, and I much prefer my lipsticks to have no taste at all incase I don’t like it.

Overall – YES. This is very, very expensive for such a sheer, almost-balmy product, but I’ve already worn it over 10 times and I’ve barely had it a week!

I’m very impressed and I have zero regrets about buying it.

Do you have an everyday lip staple? Let me know in the comments!
