Hello everyone! I feel as though I haven’t blogged for absolutely ages, but here I am, back again, and now the summer is here I will have much more time to keep on top of my posting schedule and *hopefully* not miss another upload for you all.
Anywho, I have managed to gather up a few bits and pieces from Boots over the past couple of weeks and I thought I’d discuss them in this post with you.
I firstly picked up some new lip products, because yo’ girl was DESPERATE for some new shades and formulas to play around with!
I firstly chose this Burt’s Bees gloss in the shade Starry Night, as I used to have one of their glosses and really loved the formula. I went for quite a deep purple festive colour – very ironic, considering I am currently baking alive in the sunshine while writing this! – but I mainly got it to deepen up nude lipsticks and other more neutral tones, and to give them a more mauve undertone. The shade itself is a little more brown than I would have liked, but as I said I will be mixing it and not wearing it alone, and the formula is great.
I also picked up one of the new Honey Lacquers from Max Factor, which caught my eye instantly when I walked into Boots! I was drawn to the shade Blooming Berry right away – although all the colours are beautiful and I will absolutely be going back for more! – and I’m totally obsessed with it. Again, it’s a bit of an autumnal colour (what is wrong with me?) but because of its warm pink undertones I think it’s still very wearable, even in this heat. The formula is quite thick, but it’s not sticky at all and it’s thickness makes the colour really opaque.
I then picked up a pair of Eyelure Lashes, and they are the Cheryl (Cole? Ferandez-Versini? Tweedy? Someone help) Sexy Senorita ones. I had a pair of these around Christmas for parties and they are the most gorgeous lashes. They’re really subtle and fluttery, and just add that gentle length without making it look obvious that you’re even wearing falsies. What’s more, they’re under £10 and you can reuse them plenty of times! I’ll be fully reviewing these lashes within the next few weeks so you can see what they look like on, so look out for that if you’re interested.
The final piece I picked up is a body mist from Sanctuary Spa’s new range ‘Being’, and it’s in the scent Hibiscus & Coconut Water. I bought one of these for my gorgeous friend’s birthday a couple of weeks back and adored the scent so much that I had to go back and grab one for myself! If you’re a fan of coconut scented things you will absolutely love this, but even if you’re not mad about them, I’d still recommend you having a spritz if you find yourself in store because the hibiscus calms the sweetness of the coconut down considerably. I’ve been essentially having a bath in this before I go out every day and I’ve had so many compliments! All of the scents smell so tasty, so I’m planning on trying a few more to add to the collection.
So those are my recent purchases! I’m so happy to be back writing, and I’m excited for what the summer months mean for my blog.
Lots of love,
PS I just wanted to let you guys know that my blog’s birthday was on the 15th of June, and I can’t thank you all enough for filling the past 3 years of blogging with encouragement, happiness & makep-loving goodness. Here’s to many more years to come X
