February Favourites | 2017

And a very merry March to you all! I simply cannot believe that February is already done and dusted! Time is just flying at the moment; I feel like I’m so busy that I can’t even pause to take a breath, and I just can’t get my head around the fact it’s already March!

Either way, I thought I’d accumulate the bits and pieces I’ve enjoyed using through February, so we can box off the month and say hello to spring (finally!).

The first product I’ve been enjoying, which I feel like I’m constantly talking about, is the Lash Sensational Mascara from Maybelline. As you may be able to tell I recently bought a brand new tube and I just can’t get over the effect this has on my lashes. No other mascara comes close to this and I always get compliments on my eyelashes when I wear this product! It’s also really affordable and easy to get your hands on, as you can pick it up from your local Boots or Superdrug. It’s one of my all-time favourite makeup products for sure and I’d definitely recommend it to any of you.

I’ve been going for a very simple, shimmery eye at the moment, and the base I’ve been using has been Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Cream in the shade 13. This is a really fresh, pretty champagne pink, and it’s just so perfect for everyday wear. As I mentioned before I’ve been so busy lately there’s been no time for any fancy eye makeup, but this is so quick and easy to use – I just tap my finger in and dab it all over my eyelid, and then I tend to set it into place with some face highlighter just so it stays put, as it does have the tendency to crease quite badly, so beware! It has almost a wet effect on the lids and I’m simply loving it at the moment.

I’m so not someone to preach about ridiculously high end beauty brands – because come on, do we really need to spend that much? – but I truly have been wearing Tom Ford’s Pussycat Matte Lip Colour so much this past month that it would have been a crime not to mention it! It’s a purple mauve shade; quite deep, and not really something I’m used to, but the formula is so rich and opaque and its lasting power is so brilliant. It works really well to complete a very simple makeup look (which, as I’ve said, I’ve been leaning towards lately) and… Okay, I won’t say it’s worth the stupidly high price tag, but it is lovely. Very, very, very lovely.

My final February favourite is Bourjois’ Rose Qui Peut Gloss. I will say that after having a snoop online it seems to not be available in Boots or Superdrug anymore – whether it’s been discontinued I’m not sure – but you can still buy them on Feel Unique so I figured I’d mention it anyway! This is a really lovely lightweight lipgloss. It’s not sticky in the slightest and has a really high shine to it, and I love the shade (a deeper warm pink).

So those are my February favourites! I still can’t believe February is already over, but bring on March and the sunshine is what I say…

What have you loved using this month?

  1. Great post, hun! It was such a joy to read. I love Make Up Forever too. I have their pearlescent cream eyeshadow in both mother of pearl white and metallic blue. Very cute and late 90’s pop princess! I adore Tom Ford lipsticks, too. So chic and such great colors.

  2. Unfortunately not a fan of the Lash Sensational myself but mascaras are very personal and my lashes are not that great to begin with, haha!

I can’t wait to try MUFE out. It’s coming to a store near me soon and there’s so many I want to try!

    1. Ah that’s a shame lovely, but you’re so right! I do find I have to leave this one to dry out at first for a couple of weeks as it’s quite clumpy when freshly opened 🙂 And if you’re looking to try something these cream shadows are excellent! So pretty xx
